brb

So it's probably pointless to announce a hiatus when I have no followers, but I'm taking a little time to enjoy the rest of my summer. Only one month left until I go to college at UNC Chapel HiAdd Imagell and I'm trying to soak up my last days at home and with friends. The next time I post I'll be a college student and maybe I'll start posting actual outfits!

Sunglasses- Hallelu Boutique

Having so much fun playing around with my new mac! These sunglasses were my solitary find from my week at the beach. I know I've found a gem when the first thing out of my dad's mouth is "Those things are ridiculous Alexandra!"... but with two older brothers I've learned to shrug off that sort of thing. :) Hallelu is such a cute boutique, check out their blog here.

A little late on this but I love Atlanta de Cadenet, such a beautiful girl. If you've ever googled her you can tell that this is a girl who loves to have fun. The best part about it is she loves to have fun with fashion. Even when she's in clubs or out for drinks she always has something funky or quirky on her outfit. Such a beautiful girl and definitely a good reminder to stay spontaneous and light when dealing with style.

sweet song

Aimee Song is so cute!! She is so sweet and has impeccible style. I love that fashion is only one of her talents, I bet she does amazing work in architecture. I dare you to watch this video without falling in love with her.

short story

If there are two things I have been searching desperately for this summer it's scalloped shorts and leather shorts. Both high waisted of course! I think the leather shorts are so edgy and I love how Miss Whitney paired them with a cropped knitted top. I would love to pair them with a lace cropped top and some wedges or clogs. The scalloped shorts are so feminine and girly, there were a great pair at Urban Outfitters that I never got around to purchasing... wonder if they're still on sale. I've been at the beach all week mostly living in a bikini. The shopping has been a bit of a dud but I've bought some fabulous new sunglasses that more than make up for my striking out. Pictures to come later on my brand new Mac! So excited though I'm trying not to abuse iPhoto too much.

i can see clearly now

1. Aldo Shoes
2. Fashion Bananas
3. Sea of Shoes
4. Style by Kling
I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant to embrace the clear shoes trend. I was having visions of hooker heels dancing around (on poles) in my head, but these lovely bloggers have changed my mind. I'd like to try the top pair from Aldo since they combine the nude trend with just the right amount of clear detailing. Shoes like these CLEARLY beg for a funky toenail polish... sorry, I had to.

hot hot heat

1. Leopard Earrings- Hand Picked
2. Peacock Earrings- I got these in Africa
3. Gold Rectangles- Simply Meg's Boutique
4. Cream Earrings- Simply Meg's Boutique
Since it is waaay to hot to get dressed up and take outfit pictures, my current earring favorites will have to suffice. I love adding a bit of leopard print to outfits with a scarf or these earrings, it's an effortless way to add some edge without having to worry about that fine line between trashy and classy that animal prints often entail. The peacock earrings I got with my mom when I was in Kenya two summers ago volunteering at an orphanage. I have another pair of peacock earrings from Forever21 but I love wearing jewelry with a story. The last two gold pairs are just fun and retro, I wore the cream pair to prom with a simple emerald colored dress and big Brigitte Bardot curls.

...Can do no wrong. She's my number one girl crush and I'm so jealous of her wardrobe. Every time I see her on a street style website she's wearing my new favorite outfit. So gorgeous and such great taste!

summer breeze

1. Necklace- Simply Meg's Boutique
2. Gold Watch- Urban Outfitters
3. Peacock Pin- Adelaide's Corner Cottage
4. Vintage Aviators- Ray Ban
5. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde- Anthropologie
6. Love Poems by Pablo Neruda- Anthropologie
Because I'm positive that the industry has been waiting for summer style selections from North Carolina, fashion's epicenter... I absolutely love this necklace I wore it to my graduation and it really pairs well with a crisp white dress. Ever since Chanel came out with Nouvelle Vague I have become fascinated with that sort of wintergreen-pastel. Definitely my color pick for the summer, just ask my newly polished toenails! This gold wrap-around watch from Urban Outfitters was such a great find, I bought it to satisfy my craving for a La Mer wrap around and a gold boyfriend-style watch. The peacock pin was a gift and I just think it's too pretty not to include in my summer picks. Of course Ray-Bans are on the list, I love their classic look, I think the Ray-Ban company should be doing a better job of advertising their vintage appeal, I'm sure there are some great old ad campaigns from their start-up days. Finally, my two summer reads made adorable by Anthropologie. Wilde is my favorite author, a truly fascinating man and I absolutely recommend this to anyone who isn't familiar with his work. Neruda is my favorite poet, a genius with words, and the double Spanish and English text in this little book is certainly helping my Spanish skills.
